One bit of text I found ages ago (it has a date of 17 Aug 96) and often makes me smile is:

"My ingenious neighbor has a rather weird sense of humor. This summer he put up a birdhouse and birdbath in his yard and busily rigged up some mysterious wiring. Now, whenever a bird gets into the birdbath, a telephone rings in the birdhouse."

Most likely not true, but once I get a back yard I think I'd make it happen.
